KOTR5: The Challenger

So we know Austin Cooper will be defending his ‘King’ title next Wednesday, but who will be his challenger? Well, I’ve been told we will be getting an answer soon, but in the mean time we can only take a guess at who will dare to step into the ring in a bid to reac hRHW’s highest honor. I hereby present you with my three best guesses of who could be the KOTR5 challenger.

Dash Decker

The most obvious choice of a challenger is mighty Dash Decker. Dash narrowly lost the ‘King’ title (and his undefeated status) to Austin on KOTR4, so a right-away rematch seems logical. The problem is that no one has heard from Dash since his defeat, which makes me wonder if he has healed from the humiliating blow that was Austin’s victory. If it’s in fact Dash, this would be the third time ‘The Chosen One’ meets big Coop in the RHW ring.

Ethan Andrews

Ethan Andrews vs Austin Cooper was the second match of Catalog 16. Yes, that’s 9 full catalogs in between since these two met each other on a ring. That match ended with a huge upset, where the winner used the loser’s own finishing move to end the match. It would be very interesting to have a rematch that will help us to compare how both of them have changed since. Ethan already had his shot at glory on KOTR3, where he was very, very close to get RHW’s crown. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him as the KOTR5 challenger given the fact that he’s always up for a bodybuilder beating, even more so if there is such a huge stake at play.

Bruce Ballard

Bruce Ballard has had a meteoric rise since his debut. He is one versatile performer with all the attributes of a true star. With 10 matches under his belt so far, we can agree that he deserves a shot to the ‘King of the Ring’ title. Austin Cooper already destroyed Bruce in one of the most brutal finishes of RHW history.  Since then, they have met two additional times: once when Bruce joined forces with Dash to take on Austin and Zack Johnathan and then when he jumped to Dash’s rescue on their handicap match, something Austin may have not forgotten yet. A KOTR5 appearance would be a chance at ‘singles match’ redemption so he can prove he doesn’t need anyone on his corner to make it on his own.

So who will it be? We will know very soon so stay tuned to La Sustancia P’s KOTR5 Special Coverage to find out! finaldot

Surprising, Structured & Sexy

I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again almost 2 months later and having watched this more than a dozen times: Kayden Keller vs Leo Tomassi is my favorite match from BG East’s Catalog 110. So how come that in a catalog featuring personal favorites (Austin Cooper, Cal Bennett, Lane Hartley, Ben Monaco, Ty Alexander), gorgerous hunks (Zach Reno, Chace La Chance, Damien Rush, Biff Farrell, Guido Genatto) and fantastic rookies (Van Skyler and Vasily Volkov) my favorite match is the one not featuring any of them. Over at neverland, Bard has two great articles (here & here) that are much more detailed than this one and will give you a better sense of why I like this match so much. And what can I add to those awesome reviews? Well, I can give you three S’s and some freaking HOT gifs!

It was definitely a surprise when I first saw the preview pictures of this release on The Arena. I recognized Kayden right away as I certainly have seen him in action before, but I didn’t recognize Leo’s face. It was when I read his name that I started to remember the best things about his previous matches: Archer’s bright yellow package bouncing around and Austin Cooper beating his ass. Never in a million years would I have thought sexy and masculine Leo would be up for something like this. I already had labeled him as another presumably “straight” boy making a couple of bucks on the side by doing some “homo” wrestling. “Maybe he doesn’t even get naked…” I thought of his performance here, still trying to justify my fortunately mistaken ideas.

I just can’t emphasize enough how glad I am I was thinking that way and BG East got to prove me so wrong. Leo doesn’t only get naked (and much more) but he is as committed here as veteran Kayden is. This match-up brings the spotlight closer to his face (and that sexy tight body) enable him to shine alongside Kayden, a man I also haven’t been giving the attention he deserves.

The shock of this surprise led to curiosity and not knowing how this match would play out would lead me to watch this in almost one sitting. Right from the start I was sucked in by the great storyline inside it. The match goes on from phase to phase, from competitive to seductive to explicit with well-constructed transitions that keep building things up to the inevitably satisfying release. I’m not usually a fan of explicit ending in matches, but the logic and fluid structure of this match together with these two great performances  build the necessary atmosphere to make the climatic ending feel natural, authentic and, most importantly, believable.

So although I watched this entirely, I found myself constantly trying to contain my hands off my pants for 45 minutes to no avail, obviously. I had to take about three “breaks” to finish it, but this match was so good I had to watch it again the same afternoon. The level of commitment by the wrestler is just superb. Leo of course is the biggest surprise, not holding anything back on his first X-rated appearance. It definitely looked as if he had more experience than what we were shown before, as he effortlessly moves from manhandling Kayden to becoming his bitch with equally effective results.

But what struck me the most is how I had not put more attention to Kayden before. His work here takes me back to the first time I saw Kid Vicious, another personal favorite, owning one of his victims. The similarities are clear: tall, toned but not BIG, the paused and confident demeanor plus a knack for getting us into step-by-step domination that to ends with a gushing victory. Both Kayden and Leo make this bout an example of how well BG East can immerse us in both the physical and mental domination aspect of wrestling, something that is rarely explored by others producers.

What else can I say? If you haven’t seen this match yet and you identify with the things you usually read on this blog, then I can’t stress enough how much do you need to go and watch it NOW.  I also join Bard in saying that we all need more X-rated Leo on BG East because it feels as he was born for this, just as Kayden is.

Yes, it’s another 10 out of 10 P Molecules!!!! finaldot
